Summary
MeetCrate is a browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge by LGD Ventures that exports your own Read AI meetings (transcripts, summaries, action items and related details) to files on your computer. LGD Ventures runs no servers that receive your meetings, tokens or usage data, and MeetCrate contains no analytics, tracking or ads.
How MeetCrate connects to Read AI
- You sign in on Read AI’s own page. When you click Connect, MeetCrate opens Read AI’s official sign-in (OAuth 2.1 with PKCE) at authn.read.ai. MeetCrate never sees your Read AI password.
- Read-only access. MeetCrate asks for the
meeting:readscope (plus the standardopenid,email,profileandoffline_accessscopes that Read AI’s sign-in uses). It cannot change, delete or share anything in your Read AI account. - Per-install client. On first connect, MeetCrate registers itself with Read AI’s documented dynamic client registration, so each installation has its own client.
- Tokens stay on your device. The access and refresh tokens are stored in your browser’s extension storage (chrome.storage.local). Disconnect revokes them at Read AI and removes them.
What MeetCrate reads
Only through Read AI’s official API (api.read.ai), and only when you use MeetCrate: the list of your meetings (title, time, participants, platform) and, for the meetings you choose to export, their summary, action items, chapters, key questions, topics and transcript. This can include names and email addresses of meeting participants, because they are part of your meetings.
What is stored, and where
- The exported files are a ZIP you download to your computer. Where you keep or share them is up to you.
- While an export runs, each finished meeting is kept in your browser’s extension storage so an interrupted export can resume. It is deleted right after the ZIP is downloaded (or kept only until you retry skipped meetings or start a new export).
- Small local records: the ids of meetings you already exported (for “Only new since last export”), the time of your last export, your settings, a few prompt counters (see below) and, if you activate Pro, your license key and activation instance id.
- Uninstalling MeetCrate deletes all of this local data. Your exported files are not affected.
Network requests MeetCrate makes
- Read AI (authn.read.ai and api.read.ai): sign-in, token refresh and revocation, and reading your meetings, as described above.
- Lemon Squeezy License API (api.lemonsqueezy.com): only if you use Pro, to activate, validate (about once a week) and deactivate your license. It sends your license key and an instance id; no meeting data.
No other requests are made. Checkout happens on Lemon Squeezy’s website, which acts as merchant of record under its own privacy policy. Links you click (this website, the store listing, your email app) open normally in your browser.
Export footer, share and review prompts
Exported Markdown and text files, and the README in the ZIP, end with one line, “Made with MeetCrate”, and a link to this site (tagged utm_source=export_footer). It is plain text inside the files you export; MeetCrate adds nothing else and sends nothing. On the Free plan it is always there; Pro can turn it off. After some exports, MeetCrate may show a small card suggesting to share MeetCrate (it only copies a link to this site; at most 3 times in total, with “Don’t show again”) or to leave a store review (it only opens the store page; asked after your second export and at most once more). To limit how often these appear, MeetCrate keeps a few counters in your browser. They never leave your device.
Feedback, problem reports and the uninstall page
“Send feedback” and “Report a problem” open your own email app with only the MeetCrate version and your browser name and version filled in; nothing is sent unless you send that email to lgdventures.hq@gmail.com. When you remove MeetCrate, your browser opens a short optional survey page on this site (lgdventures.github.io/meetcrate/uninstall/). The only information in its address is the MeetCrate version number. The page has no analytics or tracking; if you answer, it opens your email app with your reasons and comment, and nothing is sent unless you send it.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or share your data, and we never receive your meetings. We do not use any data for advertising, creditworthiness or any purpose other than MeetCrate’s single purpose: exporting your own meetings to files on your computer.
Microsoft Edge
On Microsoft Edge, MeetCrate works exactly as described on this page. Installs from Microsoft Edge Add-ons follow the Microsoft Edge Add-ons developer policies. Uninstalling MeetCrate from Edge removes all of its local data.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs and from Read AI adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your control
Disconnect Read AI inside MeetCrate at any time (this revokes its access). You can also review and remove connected apps in your Read AI account settings. Deactivate Pro from the Pro dialog, and remove all local data by uninstalling the extension. Because we don’t hold your data, there is nothing on our side to request or delete, but you can always contact us.
Changes and contact
We will update this page (and its date) if MeetCrate’s data practices change. MeetCrate is an independent product and is not affiliated with Read AI. Questions: lgdventures.hq@gmail.com · LGD Ventures.
